Temporarily strong gusty winds up to 70-80 kmph and very rough seas can be expected during
thundershowers, the department said.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during
thundershowers and hence seas can be temporarily rough.
Showers or
thundershowers will occur in Jaffna, Mannar and Mullaitivu districts in the morning too, it said.
Showers or
thundershowers may occur at a few places in the sea area from Galle to Hambanthota via Matara particularly in the evening or night.

thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in the Delhi-NCR between June 17 and June 20.
Showers or
thundershowers may occur at several places in the eastern sea areas.Winds will be northeasterly and wind speed will be 25-35 kmph in the sea areas around the island.Sea areas off the coast extending from Trincomalee to Colombo via Kankasanturai, Mannar and Puttalam can be fairly rough at times as the wind speed can increase up to 40-50 kmph.
The Department of Meteorology says showers or
thundershowers will occur at times in the Uva province and in Batticaloa, Ampara, Polonnaruwa and Hambantota districts.
