Muckles, 19, has raced powerboats for the past seven years and won the RYA Honda RIB National Championship aged 12 and became UIM RIB World Champion the following year.
Racing for Top Cat Racing, his main sponsor, Muckles is hoping more trophies and even speed records lie just around the corner.
Muckles, - dubbed 'Sunderland's fastest man in a boat' - was crowned GT30 Powerboat GP RYA British champion for the first time last year, adding to his UK Masters and UK Sprint Championship triumphs.
Moving up to the GT30 class in 2011 brought its own problems for Muckles and his family.
Muckles secured pole position in his race and stormed into the lead from the start, a position he comfortably retained all weekend with an awesome pace.
The result made up for Muckles' dramatic exit in round two of the Championships when his boat flipped over at top speed in mid-race.
Muckles had to deal with a host of problems throughout the Championships, which is split into five rounds.
Muckles, who stil finished fourth, said: "I had a crash with another boat which damaged my engine and steering and stopped me from going out for the restart of the first race."
