A variety of treatments are available for
infertile women.
Therefore, this study aimed at studying the social construction of infertility among
infertile women seeking treatment in the Iranian cultural-social context.
According to researcher Jonathan Ramsay, Consultant Urologist, Imperial College, London, "When we looked at ejaculated sperm, we found that the extent of sperm DNA damage was much higher in
infertile men than
infertile men, with roughly 15 per cent
infertile men, but 40 per cent in
infertile men."
Is there any difference between the sample and population in the frequency of depression among
infertile women?
In humans hyperprolactinemia is associated with a marked reduction in both the frequency and amplitude of LH pulses,14 indirectly suggesting that both the brain and pituitary might be targets for prolactin.1 The increase observed in prolactin may be the cause of low estrogen and progesterone concentration in the
infertile females.1 In vitro increase in prolactin level inhibits progesterone secretion in human porcine granulose cells.15 A study demonstrated that high levels of prolactin, inhibit follicular steroidogenesis not only by interfering with aromatase activity but also by reducing the production by the theca of the androgen precursors necessary for oestrogen production.1
97/134 (72.3%) of patients were primary
infertile in study group.
After obtaining written informed consent,
infertile couples attending infertility clinics between the years of 2014 and 2015 were requested to complete detailed evaluation forms including questions related to the social stigma on their infertility, their familial attitudes, and perception of sexuality together with the Golombok-Rust Inventory of Sexual Satisfaction, Rosenberg's Self-Esteem Scale, and Beck's Depression Inventory (9-11).
The comparisons between fertile group and
infertile group were calculated using t-test.
Infertile Ghanaian women reported high levels of stress, stigma, and depression (1,29).
The study said in the fertile group, all parameters showed positive relationship and in the
infertile, except sperm morphology, all other parameters showed negative relationship.
Aims and Objective: The aims and objectives of the study were to establish the serum concentration of [alpha]-tocopherol and lipid peroxide (LPO) level in
infertile females of northern Karnataka compared to age-matched control.
Present study explores the sociocultural influences motivating
infertile couples to consult faith healers in southern Punjab.
