Data show that adeno-associated virus (AAV) vector delivery of DNA encoding a tumor necrosis factor: immunoglobulin (IgG1) Fc (TNFR:Fc) fusion gene resulted in a significant suppression of chronic inflammatory arthritis in an animal model of disease.
We are pleased to see that AAV gene delivery of TNFR:Fc appears to have a positive impact on suppression of chronic inflammatory arthritis in animal models.
The goal of this study was to determine whether use of tgAAV-TNFR:Fc was a viable option for treating chronic inflammatory arthritis and whether local delivery could minimize systemic distribution of the TNF-a inhibitor.
