The Mickey memorabilia and celluloids from major studios such as Walt Disney, Warner Brothers and Hanna Barbera were part of an annual sale held at the South Kensington auction house.
An anonymous buyer paid more than pounds 6,000 yesterday for a clockwise celluloid entitled Crawling Mickey Mouse at an auction held in honour of the animated character's 70th birthday.
The rare Paradise clockwork celluloid in its original box fetched the top price at the Animation and Collectables sale at Christie's, in central London.
Bought for pounds 6,325, it was matched by an original animation production celluloid from the film Bambi, which was made in 1942.
A Snow White celluloid picturing a rabbit and a chipmunk peeking out from behind a log was sold for pounds 5,750.
