Initially, explants from leaf, shoot tip and roots were cultured on MS medium with different concentrations of 2,4-D, KN & BA, alone or in combination for callusing. The best result in term of percentage response (89%) and nature of the callus were obtained with the combination of 2,4-D (2 mg/l) and KN (0.2 mg/l) in case of shoot tip explants after 10-12 days.
