of the knee Clinical Orthopaedics 374 212-234
In a study from Sweden published in 1994, autologous chondrocyte transplantation
was successful (a good or excellent result) in only two of seven patients.
Skeletal-muscular system: Knee region: Arthroscopy - knee; Arthroscopic lavage or debridement, knee; Total Knee Replacement; Autologous chondrocyte transplantation
surgery of the knee; Hyaluronidase, intra-articular injections for osteoarthritis;
2-18) Most of these techniques are supported by experimental data, but only autologous chondrocyte transplantation
and autologous osteochondral transplantation have been used extensively in clinical practice.
Autologous chondrocyte transplantation
has also had success with osteochondral lesions in the knee and is beginning to be used for OCL of the talus.
