Mohammad-Reza Attarzadeh, the Deputy Energy Minister of Iran has declared the suspension of the work of building eight dams over rivers along the route of the Urmiya Lake, which is the country's biggest lake.

"My family and I have come to Kurdistan Region on trip for the Eid vacation, three days, from Urmiya, in Iran.

The editorial office of the Navide Azerbaijan newspaper in Urmiya, a town on the western shore of Lake Urmiya, was also closed.
