Keywords: Chikungunya virus, Arbovirus, Togaviridae
Mayaro virus (MAYV; genus Alphavirus, family Togaviridae
) is an arbovirus transmitted primarily by the bite of female mosquitoes of the genus Hemagogus, usually from an infected non-human primate (monkeys) to a susceptible human.
Chikungunya is caused by the chikungunya virus (CHIKV), a ribonucleic acid virus belonging to the Alphavirus genus of the Togaviridae
family (1, 2).
. Favipiravir showed anti-viral activity against Western equine encephalitis virus (WEEV) cultured in Vero cells with an [EC.sub.90] of 49 [micro]g/mL.
(34) Alphaviruses are another group of positive-sense RNA viruses transmitted through the bite of an infected mosquito and are a member of the Togaviridae
Chikungunya fever is a mosquito-borne disease, endemic to Africa and Southeast Asia, caused by CHIKV, a single-stranded RNA virus that belongs to the family Togaviridae
, genus Alphavirus.
Sulfated polysaccharides and alginic acid-containing fractions extracted from algae were found to exert antiviral efficacy against a number of viruses families, including Flaviviridae, Togaviridae
, Rhabdoviridae, and Herpesviridae and might be helpful in treatment of virus infections [146, 149-151].
CHIKV is an RNA virus belonging to genus Alpha virus and family Togaviridae
.9 CHIKV has affected millions of the people in Africa and Southeast Asia, since it was first reported in 1952 in Tanzania.10 It has recently re-emerged in countries around the Indian Ocean where climatic conditions favor high vector density, causing millions of infections.
CHIKV is an alphavirus from Togaviridae
family with single-stranded positive-sense RNA genome, which replication is carried out by a complex of four viral non-structural (ns) proteins, initially produced in a form of ns-polyprotein precursor and released by proteolytic processing.
Chikungunya, which is a member of the Togaviridae
family escaped from the border of Tanganyika and Mozambique on the delicate wings of mosquitoes, both to the east and west, and became a notifiable infectious disease in the U.S.
El virus Chikungunya (CHIKV) es un arbovirus transmitido por mosquitos vectores del genero Aedes; pertenece a la familia togaviridae
(1-3) y al genero de los alfa virus.
One of these viruses is rubella, the only member of the Rubivirus genus, which belongs to Togaviridae
El virus chikungunya es un alfavirus, de tipo RNA, de polaridad positiva, perteneciente a la familia Togaviridae
* Agente: um virus RNA, arbovirus do genero Alphavirus, pertencente a familia Togaviridae
