Ten patients (seven females, aged 48.0 [+ or -] 3.5 years, age range: 23-62 years) undergoing Heller's myotomy for achalasia and 17 patients in controls were included.
The purpose of our study was to ascertain the outcome of modified Heller's myotomy for Achalasia Cardia and to determine the morbidity associated with it.
We have followed laparoscopic Heller's myotomy (LHM) alone in the early part of the series and later added an anterior partial Dor fundoplication (LHM+DF).
