The grunt, Haemulon aurolineatum (Perciformes: Family Haemulidae) is a very common commercial fish in the Caribbean and the Venezuelan coasts and an important marine food fish.
Al respecto, estudios similares en otras especies de la Familia Haemulidae han reportado exponentes mas bajos (P = a [L.sup.b]): 2,54 para Orthopristis ruber (Guerrieri et al., 2015) y 2,87 para Haemulon aurolineatum (Bravo et al., 2009), Sin embargo, en estos estudios no se comprueba la isometria de crecimiento, tal como en el presente trabajo.

The most abundant species was Diplodus argenteus, followed by Haemulon aurolineatum, Stephanolepis hispidus and Abudefduf saxatilis.

The dominant species in descending order of abundance included Atlantic spadefish, Chaetodipterus faber; red snapper, Lutjanus campechanus; vermilion snapper, Rhomboplites aurorubens; hardhead catfish, Arius felis; blue runner, Caranx fusus; sheepshead, Archosargus probatocephalus; tomtate, Haemulon aurolineatum; and lane snapper, Lutjanus synagris.

Six species (Centropristis striata, Apogon pseudomaculatus, Haemulon aurolineatum, Stenotomus sp., Halichoeres bivittatus, and Parablennius marmoreus) were collected in June 2001 at station 2.3, when sampling was conducted over live-bottom.
