desert on Wednesday.
Saudi driver Yazeed Al-Rajhi extended his advantage in the Hail International Rally from 22min 18sec to 51min 28sec after setting the fastest time in the second 258km selective section through Saudi Arabia's expansive An Nafud desert yesterday.
The An Nafud desert is one of the best kept secrets in world cross-country rallying, with a diverse range of terrain available for motor sport, including, wadis, gravel trails, stunning mountains, rocky areas, sand flats, fast and winding tracks and treacherous sand dunes.

desert and a shorter 6km super special stage to get the competition under way.

Summary: HA'IL: Qatar's Nasser Saleh Al-Attiyah and German co-driver Timo Gottschalk trounced the opposition on the second 180.35km selection section of the 2011 Ha'il Desert Challenge across the An Nafud desert in the north-central region of the Kingdom on Wednesday.
The 214km third Dlehan selection section runs through the An Nafud desert to the north and west of Ha'il on Thursday and starts at 7:30 a.m.
