Urminsky J clinical Results of the aphakia correction by means of secondary implantation of the iris-fixated ACIOL Ophthal 2007: 63: 285-91.
PCIOL displacement occurred both late and early (0 month and 23 months)--one of these patients required IOL explantation with trans-pars plana vitrectomy and insertion of ACIOL. The eye that experienced both tube exposure and endophthalmitis underwent corneal graft patch for tube exposure, but later developed hypotony but declined tube explantation.
73.33% (n=22) had PCIOL, 13.33% (n=4) had ACIOL and 13.33% (n=4) had SFIOL implanted.
In our study, PCIOL was placed in 64% of cases; PCIOL with CTR was placed in 6% of cases, sulcus fixation IOL was placed in 9% of cases, sclera fixation IOL in 16% of cases, ACIOL in 2% of cases and 3% of cases left aphakic.
