The festival was timed to coincide with a major Proclaim '15 evangelisation conference in Birmingham on Saturday.
Walsall Dean Father Michael Leadbeater said: "On the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, around 40 parishioners from across the Walsall Deanery gathered at St Mary's the Mount for a presentation and workshops on evangelisation.
The gathering was enthusiastic in its response with parishes learning much, particularly about the New Evangelisation, taking forward the inspiration given by the Second Vatican Council.
Participants were able to attend seminars about various topics, including evangelisation, catechisation, liturgy, canon law, and ecumenism.
Bishop David also mentioned that the highlight of the Conference for him was "the spiritual excitement of the participants' willingness to take upon themselves the challenge of exploring evangelisation, that is, welcoming all people of Ukrainian and non-Ukrainian descent to become active members of our church in Canada.
