Projects can be a simple earth dike
to hold back 20 acres of water or big concrete and steel control structures like ones at The Pas that manage 200,000 acres.
There are two earth dike
segments, one at the northerly end of the project 365 feet long housing a railroad stoplog opening, and a 1,000-foot dike at the southerly terminus.
The project, operated and maintained by the city of Springfield, was constructed in 1941 and consists of approximately 3,900 feet of earth dike
, 11,200 feet of concrete wall, 1,600 feet of pressure conduit, and appurtenant drainage features to supplement the City system of disposal of interior drainage.
