EyePod provides impartial non-medical information, advice and help at hospital eye clinics and other locations in the community, to people diagnosed with sight loss, their caters and families.
Stephen Remington, chief executive at Action for Blind People, said: "The EyePod service bridges the gap between being told you're losing your sight and being able to make the practical and emotional changes necessary in learning to live with a visual impairment.
This means that every eye clinic in the country needs a dedicated, quality service and EyePod is Action's contribution to achieving that aim.
It used the statistic to promote its EyePod
information and support service, which works in partnership with eye clinics and hospitals, and aims to help those diagnosed with sight loss.
