Funding for the acquisition of the Cray X1 systems for the AHPCRC was included, through the efforts of Congressman Martin Olav Sabo, in the Federal Government's Fiscal Year 2002 DoD Appropriations Act.
The AHPCRC is a Government-University-Industry partnership committed to helping maintain the Army and United States lead in HPC research and providing future generations with the advanced tools and training they will need.
